Odisha to introduce e-auction for mineral transportation

The Odisha government today said it will soon introduce e-auctioning for streamlining mineral transportation in the state and has instructed District Collectors and Superintendents of Police of mineral rich districts.

The instructions were given by the Chief Secretary at the state-level Taskforce meeting on mining. A notification in this regard was issued by state Steel and Mines department.

"For better transparency in the whole process, government will implement Integrated Mines and Minerals Management System (I-3MS)," Steel and Mines secretary R K Sharma told reporters after the meeting.

Sharma said action would be done in case of any irregularities found in transportation of minerals.
 

Besides the Chief Secretary, the meeting was attended by Director General of Police, senior officers of the steel and mines department, transport department, forest and environment department and mining companies.
