At least one person was killed today when armed assailants opened fire at a passenger van in Pakistan's restive Balochistan province.
After the incident, security forces carried out search operations in the area and gunned down three militants.
One passenger succumbed to his gunshot wounds and six others were injured in the attack on the passenger vehicle in Nana Sahib area in Loralai district of Balochistan, an official said.

A spokesperson for the Frontier Corps said that the three militants belonging to a banned outfit were killed during a search operation and were involved in attacks on security forces and passenger vans passing through the area.
A cache of weapons and explosives was also recovered during the operation, he added.
