One killed, three injured in cylinder explosion

A worker was today killed and three others injured, two seriously, when a gas cylinder in an aluminium casting unit here exploded, police said.

The worker died on the spot, while the injured were admitted to a private hospital, police said.

The reason for the explosion of the cylinder, containing nitrogen gas, is yet to be ascertained, they said.

Sources in the unit, however, attributed the cause of explosion to the failure in adjusting the valve.
