At least one militant was killed and 12 others were arrested during raids in Egypt's restive North Sinai region, a media report said today.
State-run MENA news agency quoted security sources as saying that 39 houses and shelters belonging to terrorists were destroyed as well as four motorcycle used by them impounded.
North Sinai has witnessed many violent attacks by Islamist militants since the January 2011 revolution that toppled ex-president Hosni Mubarak.
Islamists militant attacks targeting police and military increased after the ouster of Islamist ex-president Mohamed Morsi last year.
Many policemen and soldiers, have been killed in the attacks, which including bombings and shootings.
