Jammu and Kashmir Police today claimed to have busted an inter-state drug racket with the arrest of a person and seized a huge consignment of drugs from a Srinagar-bound truck in Ramban district.
The truck, which was coming from Delhi, was intercepted at Nashri on Jammu-Srinagar national highway yesterday. A search of the vehicle led to the seizure of 1,200 bottles of the banned Codorex syrup, widely used by drug addicts, a police officer said.
The truck was seized and its driver, Yaseen Ahmad Mir, was arrested for trying to smuggle the consignment, he said.
