State-owned Odisha State Road Transport Corporation (OSRTC) has proposed to ply 47 special buses from 17 different towns in the state, including Berhampur, to Puri and vice-versa to cope with the rush for Lord Jagannath's Nabakalebara Rath Yatra.
During the last Rath Yatra, 36 state-owned buses were operated from different towns in the state. "We propose to increase the number of buses this time keeping in view the rush of pilgrims for Nabakalebara festival," Corporation's Deputy General Manager (operation), S K Behera said.
The same number of vehicles would also be proposed to operate on 'Bahuda' yatra (return journey festival of deities) and Sunabesha.
