Over 20 lakh MT of paddy purchased in Punjab

Government agencies and private millers have procured over 20 lakh tonne of paddy in the ongoing marketing season so far in Punjab, an official said.

Government agencies, including FCI, Pungrain, Markfed etc procured 19,14,328 tonnes of paddy while 91,011 tonnes of crop was procured by private millers, an official spokesman said.

Paddy procurement started from October 1 in the state.
