Over 47 lakh tonnes of paddy arrives in Haryana

As much as 47.14 lakh metric tonnes of paddy have so far arrived in the mandis of Haryana.

Out of this, 29.73 lakh metric tonnes have already been purchased by procuring agencies of the government for 2014-15 kharif season.

A spokesman of the Food and Supplies Department said over 17.41 lakh metric tonnes of paddy was purchased by private millers and dealers.

Among procuring agencies, the Food and Supplies Department procured over 12.63 lakh metric tonnes of paddy whereas HAFED procured over 9.75 lakh metric tonnes.

Agro Industries Corporation procured over 4.86 lakh metric tonnes while Haryana Warehousing Corporation took over 2.44 lakh metric tonnes.
