Owner of sugar mill, three others booked

Owner of a sugar mill and three other staff members have been booked for selling sugar, which was seized by the district authorities.

Owner of the Titawi Sugar Mill along with its Executive Director, Vice President and General Manager (Accounts) have been booked yesterday under section 3\7 of the Essential Commodities Act for selling seized sugar at the Titawi police station in the district, District Cane Officer O P Yadav said.

The sugar was sold by four accused without the permission of district authorities after it was seized for not paying dues to the farmers, he added.

Meanwhile, farmers are agitating outside the mill for not getting their dues from the mill.
