A painting competition was organised at Delhi's Tihar jail to promote 'Swachh Bharat Abhiyan', the pet project of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

More than 500 inmates of jail number one participated in the competition organised here yesterday by Dr Lal Singh foundation in association with 'Sai Glory Production'.

"The competition was organised to promote the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan launched by the Prime minister. It is our effort to make this abhiyan a success and make people aware about it," DIG Delhi prisons Mukesh Prasad said.

The competition was judged by Navneet Agnihotri, a renowned painter.

"Many such events are regularly being carried out in other jails as well. This time it was decided to launch it with a painting competition in jail number one here to ensure more participation and make it more fun for the inmates," Prasad said.
