Panel for reorganisation of AP journo union post-bifurcation

The State Executive Committee of Andhra Pradesh Union of Working Journalists (APUWJ) today resolved to appoint a fifteen-member committee to draw the roadmap for the reorganisation of APUWJ in Telangana region after the new state comes into existence.

The name of the new Union will be Telangana Union of Working Journalists (TUWJ).

The name of the Union in the residuary state would continue to be APUWJ.

The decision on forming the fifteen-member committee was taken by the State Executive Committee which met here today under the presidentship of D Somasundar, President of APUWJ, the release said.

The committee will also draw up a detailed action programme for the new Union to fight for better living and working conditions for the working journalists of print and electronic media in Telangana, the release added.
