Press Trust of India New Delhi
RJD member Rajesh Ranjan alias Pappu Yadav today sought to raise the issue of murder and rape in Patna but was disallowed by the Deputy Speaker M Thambi Durai in the Lok Sabha.

However, taking note of the issues raised by Rajesh Ranjan, Parliamentary Affairs Minister M Venkaiah Naidu said he can give a prior notice on the issue and the matter could be referred for further inquiry.

Rajesh Ranjan, who was expelled from RJD and was the sole member sitting in the opposition benches as all major parties including Congress are boycotting the House, stood up to say that two persons have been murdered in Patna two hours ago.

He also sought to raise the issue of increasing incidents of crime including rape and murder in Bihar.

After the remarks of Naidu, Rajesh Ranjan left the House.

Opposition benches remained empty for the third day today following the boycott of the house by Congress and nine other parties in protest against suspension of 25 Congress members.
