Paramour beaten to death by girl's family members

Enraged over extra-marital affair, family members of a married woman allegedly beat her paramour to death at Aulakh Khurd village in Batala district, police said today.

The victim Soni, also a married man, had a love affair with Paramjeet Kaur of the same village. However, family members of both of them did not gave approval to their relationship, Balwinder Singh, SHO, Udhanwal said.

The incident took place yesterday when Kaur, who was married to a youth at Bhatnoor village in Kapurthala district last year, had come to meet her parents.

Soni, who tried to meet Kaur secretly at night, was spotted by her family members, who beat him to death.
 

However, the victim was rushed to hospital where doctors declared him brought dead, Singh said.

Later, on the complaint of the deceased's mother, Sukhjinder, police have registered a case against the woman's family members, the SHO added.
