A 80-year-old woman died today after collapsing on the platform of Howrah station before boarding the Chennai bound Howrah-Chennai Mail, government railway police sources said.
The woman, identified as Aplamma (80) was on her way to Visakhapatnam and was waiting in the queue to board a general compartment of the train, when she collapsed on the platform, GRP officers said.
The passenger was rushed Howrah state general hospital where she was declared 'brought dead' by the doctors, they said.
