Punjab and Haryana High Court Chief Justice, Sanjay Kishan Kaul, today released "citizen's charter" of the High Court, aimed at improving justice delivery system and to help litigants and general public avail various facilities available in the HC premises.
It was also uploaded on the website and can be visited at www.Highcourtchd.Gov.In.
Speaking on the occasion, Justice Rajive Bhalla of the High Court described the various facets of "citizen's charter".
He said that it is an information brochure describing the location of the High Court, working hours of the courts, Judicial Branches and Administrative Offices, procedure of filing of the appeals etc.
"It mentions the various facilities and services available for the litigants and the procedure to inspect the judicial records and to obtain certified copies of judgments, orders and documents. It also informs about the procedure to obtain free legal aid and about various other alternate dispute resolution mechanisms available in the High Court," he said.
It also contains layout of the High Court for general directional guidance of the general public, the judge said.
He told that recently the High Court has updated its website and it also provides links to the Supreme Court website as well as National Judicial Data Grid (NJDG), which can be visited to access case status and judgments of any case pending in any of the district or Taluka courts under the jurisdiction of this High Court.
The most prominent feature of newly launched website is a Module regarding "Latest Important Judgments" which informs about the latest pronouncements of public importance, it was informed.
Recently e-Committee of the Supreme Court has got developed a mobile application for online display-board, which has been customised for our High Court.
Justice Kaul launched the "Mobile App" as well which is free to download for android/Java based mobile phones.
By using this "Mobile App", one can watch the live display to know the status of the cases being taken up on in the various Courts.
