Former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister and PDP patron Mufti Mohammed Sayeed today accused the Omar Abdullah led National Conference government of having failed to give representation to all religious and ethnic minorities of the state.

"NC has failed to give representation to all religious and ethnic minorities of the state," Sayeed said addressing a public rally in R S Pura.

"Our party would give adequate representation to all sections of the society so as to politically empower all communities including religious minorities," he said.

Mufti said that the present coalition completely ignored religious minorities like Sikhs and Kashmiri Pandits during the last six years.

"In a democracy, all religious, ethnic and linguistic groups should be part of the composition of the government so that no section of the society should feel ignored and neglected. The Sikhs and Kashmiri Pandit communities were marginalized by the present regime," he said.

Stating that Jammu and Kashmir is like mini India, the PDP leader promised to give due representation to Sikhs and Kashmir Pandits, if voted to power.

"We will fulfill all promises and commitments we are making with the people," he said.
