PHE temporary employee dies

A temporary employee of PHE department died allegedly during duty here, leading to protests by locals demanding compensation for his family, police said today.

Naresh Kumar of Janipur area died in a hospital last evening, following which over 200 people took out a protest carrying his body today, police said.

The protestors alleged that the victim had fallen unconscious while opening the valve of water supply from a tubewell two days ago and died, they said.

They demanded a government job and compensation for his family.

After assurance from the authorities, the dharna was lifted and his body cremated, they said.
