The Wild Life Institute have identified ten places to set up of captive breeding centre for the Great Indian Bustard (GIB), locally known as 'Godawan' and conducting surveys to choose the most suitable among them.
"Jaisalmer, Ajmer and Jodhpur have been identified for its set up and the institute was conducting surveys to choose the most suitable among them," Deputy Director of the Desert National park Anup K R said.
The initiative aims at saving birds of Rajasthan from extinction.

A meeting between the experts of the institute and officials of the state government was recently held in Jaipur for the setting up of breeding centre and survey of the ten identified places is being conducted, he said.
After the survey is over, the final decision will be taken, the director said.
