Play resumes at Edgbaston with no loss of overs

Play resumed in the high-profile match between India and Pakistan in the Champions Trophy after a 50-minute stoppage due to rain here today.

No overs were lost despite the stoppage.

India made a measured start against Pakistan to be 46 for no loss in 9.5 overs before rain stopped play in the marquee clash of the Champions Trophy here today.

Openers Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan were batting on 25

And 20 after seeing out a testing spell from pacer Mohammad Amir.

Pakistan started with pace of Amir and left-arm spin of Imad Wasim.

While Amir conceded 14 runs in four overs, the Indian batsmen were more comfortable against Wasim, who gave away 27 runs in 4.5 overs.
 

Pacer Hasan Ali conceded five runs in the only he bowled before rain arrived at Edgbaston.

Pakistan won the toss and elected to field.
