Thane district rural police seized a huge stock of banned gutka today, from a godown in Boisar, the rural police said.
Assistant Sub-Inspector J S Nale of the Boisar police station told PTI that acting on a tip off, the police team raided the premises and seized the stock of banned gutka.
The accused Mohammed Inamullah Sheikh had hired a godown and allegedly stocked gutka to sell them to customers, the police said.

The seizure was of around 30 gunny bags of banned goods including Vimal brand gutka mix and scented tobacco the police said.
Food and Drug Administration Joint Commissioner P M Raut told PTI that the seized gutka was valued at about Rs 2.84 lakh and offences under the FDA Act have been registered against the accused.
Further investigations into the crime are on, sources said.
