Press Trust of India Kochi
Kerala High court today asked the police to investigate the source of money with solar panel scam accused Saritha S Nair, which was used by her to settle the cases against her.

The direction was issued when the bail pleas of the accused came up before Justice Thomas P Joseph.

The court granted bail to Saritha in the case relating to forgery of driving license.

When her counsel insisted for bail in two other cheating cases registered by Ernakulam Town police station on the ground that the matter was settled out of court, the judge asked the police to inquire and report regarding the source of money with Saritha.

The bail pleas were then posted to Tuesday next for further consideration.

A fraudulent solar energy company - Team Solar - had been floated by Saritha along with another person and they had allegedly collected huge amounts from investors, promising to make them business partners or offering to install alternate sources of energy and failed to deliver the goods.

The two were arrested last year.

The case took a political twist after the names of some personal staff of Chief Minister Oommen Chandy cropped up.
