Police is on the look out for a four-member gang which allegedly abducted and tortured a person from Uttar Pradesh, who used to supply labourers for industries here.

Police said the gang recently abducted one Rakesh Singh a couple of days back due to professional rivalry, held him captive and tortured him.

They had also withdrawn nearly Rs 1 lakh from his account using ATM card, they said.

Rakesh Singh used to bring workers from his state and accommodate them in construction and textile industries on commission basis.

Rakesh, however, managed to escape from the gang today and later met the DCP, Sukumar, and filed a complaint, based on which a search was launched for the gang, police said.
