Police SI suspended for failing to submit chargesheet in court

A police sub inspector posted at Bhanajangara police station was today suspended on the charge of failing to file the chargesheet of a case in court within the stipulated time.

Ganjam district superintendent of police Narsingh Bhol ordered the suspension of sub-inspector Sunil Kumar Pradhan.

Pradhan did not file the chargesheet within the stipulated 60 days in court in a case relating to planning of dacoity for which members of a gang secured their bail.

The gang members were arrested from G Rambah under Bhanjanagara police station on December 7 last.

"It was negligence on the part of the sub-inspector for which the gang members managed to get bail. He has been suspended for dereliction of duty," Bhol added.
