Portugal bags top honours in judo at Lusofonia

Portugal today bagged top honours in judo at the Lusofonia Games, winning five gold medals, while India also put up a good performance.

Competitions are being held in over a dozen categories in judo at the multi-purpose indoor stadium at Peddem near here.

Portugal won six medals in the men's section -- five golds and one silver.

Indian judokas bagged eight medals, which includes two gold, two silver and four bronze.

India are leading the medals tally with 46 (19 gold, 13 silver and 14 bronze), followed by Portugal, who have won 22 medals (11 gold, 7 silver and 4 bronze).
