Positive global cues lift copper futures by 0.36%

Copper prices went up by 0.36 per cent to Rs 460.75 per kg in futures market today as speculators built up fresh positions amid a firm trend overseas.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, copper for delivery in
April rose by Rs 1.65, or 0.36 per cent, to Rs 460.75 per kg in a business turnover of 2,901 lots.
Likewise, the metal for delivery in June contracts was up by Rs 1.50, or 0.32 per cent, to Rs 465.60 per kg in 112 lots.
Marketmen attributed the rise in copper prices at futures trade to a firm trend overseas amid pick up in demand from consuming industries at the domestic spot markets.
Globally, copper for delivery in three month rose 0.2 per cent to USD 7,038.50 per metric tonne on the London Metal Exchange.
