Post retirement, benevolent fund for accredited Bengal scribes

Journalists and the others who have served for a minimum of 10 years in the state were eligible to receive Rs 2,500 per month from the fund after retirement at 60 years on condition that they they did not receive pension for any other source, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said.

A seven-member selection committee, including four journalists, has been formed, she said.

Banerjee said applications were to be submitted to the Director, Information and Cultural Affairs department which would be forwarded to the selection committee.

Three per cent of the funds would be reserved for the disabled, she said. PTI PKC PB PC
