Powerful IED found in Alipurduar
A powerful IED was found in Alipurduar town of north Bengal today.
Alipurduar superintendent of police A Ravindranathan said an unclaimed stuffed bag was found near the stairwell outside a house at Subhaspally area of the town this morning.
A man after seeing an object in it, pulled it out and threw it away. However, others present raised a hue and cry and informed police.
The object was found to be a powerful IED and was defused by the bomb disposal unit.
Ravindranathan said investigations are on into the incident.
