Karaikal-based Puducherry Power Corporation Limited (PPCL) has paid a dividend of Rs 3.51 crore to the Puducherry Government for 2013-14.
A cheque for this sum was handed over to Chief Minister N. Rangasamy today by PPCL Chairman P R Siva, MLA.
An official release said the PPCL which went into commercial operation in January 2000 after incorporation in 1993 had been generating 32.5 megawatt power at T.R.Pattinam in Karaikal.
The gas based power plant is getting the gas from the wells at Narimanam in the Cauvery basin through an agreement with Gas Authority of India Limited (GAIL).
