Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu today flagged off two trains from Bilaspur to Jodhpur and Bikaner.

The new train services will facilitate people to travel to Bikaner and Jodhpur, Prabhu said after launching the Bilaspur-Bhagat Ki Kothi Express and Bilaspur-Bikaner Express through video conferencing facility here.

Though both the trains were announced in the railway budget 2013-14, their launch was delayed because of safety clearance issue.

"There were some issues involving use of new type LHB coaches in the general comartments which delayed the clearances from Commissioner Railway Safety (CRS).

"We got the CRS clearances and trais were launched accordingly," said a senior Railway Ministry official.

Both the new trains are bi-weekly.

Besides, services of two local train services were also extended.

Raipur-Dalli Rajhara passenger and Dalli Rajhara-Durg passenger were extended to Gudum on a new line.
