Prasar Bharati Board gets 2 new part-time members

Two new part-time members Dipa Dikshit and C R Kesavan have been appointed to the board of public broadcaster Prasar Bharati.

Sources said the notification related to the appointment of the two new part-time members was issued by the I&B ministry yesterday.

Kesavan is the great grandson of first Governor-General of free India C Rajagopalachari. Dixit is the daughter of former Foreign secretary J N Dixit and was earlier a member of the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights, sources said.

The decision to appoint the new part-time members was taken by a panel headed by the Vice President, officials added.
 

Prasar Bharati is governed by a Board, which comprises a Chairman, an Executive Member (Chief Executive Officer), a Member (Finance), a Member (Personnel), six part-time members, a representative of the I&B ministry and DGs of All India Radio and Doordarshan as ex-officio members. Mrinal Pande is the chairperson of the board.
