A pregnant riot victim died in a relief camp at Shahpur in the district due to unavailability of adequate medical facilities, police said today.
Shabana complained of labour pain yesterday but could not be taken to hospital as ambulance was not available, police said, adding that she died in the relief camp.
Meanwhile, an NGO has claimed that five children died of fever in another relief camp in the last few days, but Chief Medical Officer S K Tyagi has confirmed only two deaths.
Tyagi said medical teams have been sent to the affected camps.
The NGO said during a check up by its medical team, 197 people were found ill, including 70 in serious condition, in different relief camps.
