Property documents, valuables seized from agri board official's residence

Documents relating to property worth crores of rupees, silver and gold jewellery were seized during a raid on the residence of an Agriculture Marketing Board deputy director here on Thursday, an Anti-Corruption Bureau official said.
Acting on a tip-off, an ACB team raided the house of Ashok Kumar Garg, recovering documents pertaining to property worth around Rs 25 crore besides 8 kg of silver and 460 gm of gold jewellery, the official said.
The raid was carried out after registering a case of disproportionate assets against the accused officer.
Documents relating to a commercial office, shop, 2.75 bigha agriculture land, two plots and four houses worth Rs 22-25 crore were seized, ACB DGP Alok Tripathi said.
Tripathi said Rs 6.3 lakh in cash, 11 life insurance policies and papers regarding investment in mutual fund were also recovered apart from two luxury cars.
A bank locker registered in the name of the officer's son was yet to be searched, he said.
Garg, during 2014-17, had allegedly allotted shops and plots arbitrarily by conniving with other officials, police said.
