Protest in UP village over damaged idol in temple

An idol at a Hanuman temple in a village in Rohta area was today found damaged, sparking anger among villagers who gheraoed a police station.
The Hanuman idol was found damaged after the villagers gathered for morning prayers at the temple in Ajampur village, police said.
Agitated over the incident, the villagers reached the police station and held protest.
The villagers were pacified after police assured action against those responsible for the incident.
