The protest march was taken out under the banner of "Akhand Sanatan (Hindu) Sangathan" in which representatives of various prominent Hindu organisations took part.

"Dozens of Hindu families are ready to migrate to India as they are facing immense suffering in Pakistan and are longing for a better future and are hoping to stay here," VHP state chief Rama Kant Dubey said.

Over 250 Hindus from Pakistan have already arrived here from Pakistan and many of them are alleging that they faced persecution in Pak, Dubey claimed.

He also demanded that India should also consider granting asylum to the Pakistani Hindus along with long term visa-extension to those who want it.

Most of these people have come on a month-long visa ostensibly for pilgrimage and many of them have reportedly expressed their desire not to go back to Pakistan.
