Puducherry Chief Minister V Narayanasamy today called on Consul General of France Phillipe Janvier Kamiyama here and expressed his grief over the Nice truck attack in France that left 84 dead and scores injured.
The Chief Minister expressed "shock and grief" over the incident an official source said.
Narayanasamy later told reporters that the people of Puducherry were shocked to hear the news of the truck attack, which killed 84 people and injured several others, who were part of a large turnout watching a fireworks display on the seafront in Nice while celebrating the French national day.
Security has been beefed up at the French Consul General's office here in the aftermath of the attack.
