Puducherry Govt to bear premium payment under PMSBY

As the Centre's social security schemes were launched here, the AINRC Government today announced that it would bear the annual premium of Rs 12 for eligible beneficiaries in the Union Territory under the accidental death-cum-disability insurance cover scheme.

Chief Minister N Rangasamy, whose party is an ally of NDA, made the announcement to the pleasant surprise of the gathering at the function where Union Minister of State for Water Resources Sanwar Lal Jat launched the three social security schemes.

Rangasamy said the premium of Rs 12 payable by each eligible beneficiaries under the Prime Mantri Suraksha Bhima Yojana (PMSBY) would be paid by the union territory government.
 

The other two schemes launched were Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jothi Bhima Yojana and Atal Pension scheme.

Jat said Prime Minister Narendra Modi was very keen about improving the livelihood of all the under privileged sections and people belonging to below poverty line category in the country.
