Puducherry traders asked to register themselves under GSTN

The Commercial Taxes Department of Puducherry government has asked the traders, who are yet to get registered, to enrol themselves immediately under the GSTN (Goods and Services Tax Network).

Commissioner of Commercial Taxes G Srinivas said in a release today that the dealers registered under the Puducherry Value Added Tax Act 2007 were issued the User ID and passwords for accessing the GSTN portal and their e-mail ID and mobile numbers had also been validated.

The enrolment process, which is mandatory for migration to the GSTN, commenced in the Union Territory on November 8 and it has been in progress now.
 

The last date for migration for the Union Territory has been fixed for December 15, the release said adding the dealers who received the provisional ID and password and were yet to register themselves under the GSTN network should complete the enrolment process immediately.

The release said "it is mandatory to register under GSTN network to continue business post implementation of the GST Act".

The release also said that help desks were available in the Commercial Taxes Department to facilitate the GSTN migration from 9 AM to 9 PM till December 15.
