A private security agency's employee was killed allegedly in an altercation with guards attached to it when he had gone to inspect them in the Sector 92 area here, police said today.

According to police, the victim, identified as Mahavir, was a field officer with a private security agency and had gone to inspect its guards last night when he met his end.

The accused guards, identified as Rajesh Mishra, Harinder, Gaurav and Ajaypal, were posted as part of the security at the entry gate of a residential complex in Sector 92.

When Mahavir arrived there to check whether the guards were doing their duty properly, the latter asked him to enter his name in the register.

Mahavir, however, refused saying he was an official of the company and had come only to check their performance.

That triggered an altercation which turned violent and saw the guards hitting Mahavir on the head with a staff, killing him on the spot.

Police later arrested Rajesh Mishra from the site with the deceased's family members having lodged a case of murder against the four guards, the remaining three of whom are now absconding.

Police said that the body has been sent for a post-mortem and a manhunt launched to arrest the other three accused.
