The Joint Managing Director of city-based T V Sundram Iyengar and Sons, R Dinesh, has been elected Chairman, Confederation of Indian Industry, Southern Region for the period 2018-19.
Dinesh, who is closely associated with CII, is also the Chairman, CII Institute of Logistics Advisory Council and Chairman of Logistics Sector Skill Council.
Prior to taking up the new role, he was serving the trade body as Vice-Chairman, Southern Region, a press release said.
Meanwhile, Coimbatore-based Lakshmi Machine Works Ltd., Chairman and Managing Director, Sanjay Jayavarthanavelu was elected Deputy Chairman, CII, Southern Region for 2018-19.
Jayavarthanavelu has held various responsibilities in CII and had also served CII Tamil Nadu State Council as its Chairman in 2006-07.
He was also the Chairman, Textiles (Sub-Committee), CII Southern Region during 2002-04, it added.
