Radio City will offer its listeners a chance to catch the in-studio action with the launch of its 'Video City' service.

Extending its reach from audio to video, private radio FM station Radio City today launched Video City - a platform which allows its listeners to consume FM contents in a video format.

Video City provides listeners of Radio City 91.1FM to watch video content and catch live action from the studio on- the-go and on a device of their choice, FM channel said in a statement.

It will offer a customised programming including bouquet consisting of celebrity interviews, viral videos, live studio action, traffic updates and curated playlists through its website.

Playlists available on the platform will be mood-mapped to ensure that the curated songs are relevant and in sync with the viewer preferences, it added.

Commenting on the development, Radio City CEO Abraham Thomas said:" We believe that this will help us seamlessly integrate radio into the digital era."

The company is starting this in Mumbai and has plans to take this initiative to other cities as well, he added.

"It aims to transform radio from being a listener-only medium to an experiential digital multimedia platform by giving a sneak peek into the fun and masti inside the radio studio," Thomas said.

Radio City, is a part of Music Broadcast Limited (MBL), which is a subsidiary of leding Jagran Prakash Ltd, the publisher of leading Hindi daily Dainik Jagran.

MBL currently has 39 stations, including 11 newly acquired stations in Phase III auctions.
