Rain lashed various places in Punjab and Haryana today as maximum temperature hovered at below normal level in some areas of both states.
Amritsar settled at 27.2 degrees Celsius, seven notches below normal, after 10 mm of rain lashed the city during the day, the Met department said.
Ludhiana and Patiala, which received 4.2 mm and 8.2 mm of rain respectively, registered maximum temperatures of 29.2 and 32.6 degrees Celsius.

Chandigarh, the joint capital of the two states, recorded a maximum of 33.8 degrees Celsius.
In Haryana, Karnal recorded a maximum of 35 degrees Celsius followed by Ambala (33.3) and Narnaul (33).
Ambala and Karnal received 1.6 mm and 15.2 mm of rainfall respectively.
MeT department has predicted rain or thundershower at isolated places in Punjab and Haryana tomorrow.
