Southwest monsoon remained active in east and west Uttar Pradesh, bringing moderate to heavy rainfall or thundershowers in most places in the state.
The MeT office today said, the chief amount of rainfall recorded in cms in the past 24 hours are 16 each in Varanasi and Moradabad, 11 in Rae Bareli, 10 in Nazibabad, 9 in Marihau, 8 each in Basti, and Fursatganj, 7 each in Lucknow, Agra, Haidergarh and Narora, 6 each in Aligarh, Gonda and Jaunpur and 5 each in Muzaffarnagar and Bareilly.
Generally cloudy sky with few spells of rains or thundershowers are likey in the next 24 hours, they said adding that the maximum and minimum temperatures would be around 27 degree and 23 degree Celsius, respectively.
