A 16-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a man in Malviya Nagar area here, police said today.
Dinesh Prajapat (23), a resident of Gatore area, allegedly raped the girl yesterday on the pretext of dropping her home. The accused was arrested today, they said.
"The accused worked as a photographer in a shop adjacent to a shop where the girl was working. Dinesh convinced the victim that he would drop her home," SHO (Jawahar Circle) Hari Shankar said, adding he took advantage of the situation and raped the girl last evening.
A complaint has been lodged by the victim's family members. The accused has been booked under Section 376 of IPC and provisions of the POCSO Act, they said.
