Rajasthan Election Commission today announced a revised programme of upcoming three-stage local bodies election to be held next month.
Political parties had requested the Commission to resolve discrepancies in the nomination process for polls and demanded that nominations be filed in three phases in line with the polling following which the changes were made.
The changes were made after holding discussions with the political parties.

As per the change, nomination will now be received separately in all three phases for panchayat samiti and zila parishad polls, state Election Commissioner Ramlubhaya said.
Under the revised programme, notification for the election of panchayat samiti and zila parishad members will be announced on January 3 next month and simultaneously nomination process will be started.
The candidates will be allotted elections symbols on January 8, he said.
Similarly in the phase-II, notification will be issued on January 9 and candidates will be allotted symbol on January 14.
The notification for Panchayat Samiti and Zila Parishad in 30 districts apart from Banswara, Dungarpur and Jaisalmer will be issued in phase-3rd on January 17. Election symbols will be allotted on January 22.
He added rest program of panchayat polls will continue as decided earlier.
The polling will be held in three phases and the first phase is on January 16, second on January 22 and third phase on January 30. Counting of votes will be held on February 5 at district headquarters.
