Two of family drown in tank in Raj

A woman and her brother-in-law drowned in a water tank in Poogal area of the district,police said today.

The victims, identified as Anita (28) and Rugharam (20) were yesterday working in their farm when Rugharam went to fetch water from the tank and accidentally slipped into it.

Seeing this, Anita rushed to his rescue and she also fell into the tank and they both drowned, police said.

Their bodies were later taken out and shifted to a local hospital for postmortem, they said.
