The Rajasthan State Road Transport Corporation (RSRTC) employees boycotted duties for the second consecutive day today, as part of their agitation demanding seventh pay commission benefits, officials said.

There are 52 depots and 4,780 buses under the RSRTC and most of them were off the roads for the second consecutive day, a transport official said, adding that a meeting with the chairman and managing director of the corporation did not go well.

We are demanding seventh pay commission benefits, release of three pending DAs among other things. The state has incurred a loss of nearly Rs 10 crore in two days, he said.

Meanwhile, Transport minister Yunus Khan has requested the employees to call off the strike. He said the government is seriously considering the demands.

The government is positive about the demands and we have requested the striking employees to return to work, Khan said.
