Former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi was remembered today in the state on the occasion of his 69th birth anniversary, with the Governor and Chief Minister administering the communal harmony pledge.
Governor K Rosaiah and Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa administered the "Sadbhavana divas" communal harmony pledge at the Raj Bhavan and state Secretariat respectively.
The leaders also paid floral tributes to the former Prime Minister.

Gandhi was assassinated by an LTTE suicide bomber in Sriperumbudur in 1991 during an election campaign.
