Rare snake rescued

A rare snake, Indian Red

Sand Boa, was today rescued and three smugglers were arrested at Fulbari area of Jalpaigri district, a forest official said here today.

Acting on a tip off, forest department personnel raided a house at Fulbari last night, rescued the snake and arrested three smugglers from there, Forest Ranger of Baikunthapur division, Sanjay Dutta, said.

The snake would have fetched the smugglers approximately Rs two crore, Dutta said.
