Rio leads officials in cleaning up Dimapur airport

Police officials and volunteers removed shrubs, plants and garbage in the arrival and departure areas of the airport during the drive yesterday, press secretary to the chief minister, Abu Metha, said today.

Flower beds were created outside and inside the airport and ornamental trees and plants planted.

The chief minister visited all areas of the airport, including the arrival and departure areas, the VIP lounge, the tarmac and the parking areas.

With the onset of winter, a number of events, including the annual Hornbill festival, are in the pipeline, which attract large number of visitors, including foreign tourists.
