Uttar Pradesh secondary education minister Mehboob Ali today expressed concern over the slow pace in which the 'Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan' scheme was being implemented in the state, and blamed it on the "callous attitude" of the officers.
In a statement issued here, the minister alleged that construction companies were not paying attention to the quality of school buildings and other infrastructure being built under the scheme.
Blaming officers of secondary education department and those at the district level for the slow-paced work, Ali said an inquiry by a technical committee would be initiated wherever poor constructions are found and FIRs would be lodged against whosoever is found guilty.
He said all district inspectors of schools have been directed to recover funds from agencies involved in poor quality of work and added that action would be recommended against them.
